"Meine Stadtbank" makes a digital statement: the Pixelwave – LED-installation
An effective PR & marketing tool merges with future-oriented building design
Times Square with its iconic LED walls is one of the most photographed venues in the world. The luminous digital commercials run non-stop all year round and the LED walls are effective PR & communication tools for many companies. Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien has been going on the offensive with a new branch concept in the federal capital since 2019. With "Meine Stadtbank", it is focusing on highly personalized service with the help of digital touchpoints and is investing in the redesign of its branches.
"We are thus providing definitive solutions to the megatrends of regionality and digitalisation," says Martin Hauer, member of the Managing Board for Retail and Network Services at Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien.
This trend is highly noticeable from outside the building through "Pixelwaves" - a dynamic LED installation that embeds the pixels organically into the superstructure of the bank.
Pixelwaves consist of square LED elements and are an eye-catcher for passers-by and the starting point for their "Stadtbank" experience. Pixelwaves forms a moving luminous area that contributes significantly to the overall aesthetic of the specific locations. It unifies the future-oriented design of all branches, with each Pixelwave presenting a unique aspect, each with differently arranged digital LED elements. Pixelwaves are controlled via the Grassfish Digital Signage Experience platform, together with conventional large format displays and interactive systems in the various branches.
A symbol for the digital age
Pixelwaves is part of the digital redesign and symbolizes the focus on individual service promoting the digital offerings of Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien. Pixelwaves at the bank's headquarters, Raiffeisenhaus Wien on the Danube Canal, is complemented by the Pixel Tower, which implements the otherwise horizontal design, vertically, and is visible from a great distance.
PR & Marketing Tool
RLB NÖ-Wien uses Pixelwaves on the one hand as a mood element, and on the other hand to communicate PR and marketing campaigns. RLB NÖ-Wien supported the global UN campaign "Orange the World" drawing attention to violence against women by displaying orange animations at the end of the year, as well as displaying purple motifs as part of "#PurpleLightUp" to draw attention to the rights of the disabled. The digital LED solution powered by Grassfish software acts as a mouthpiece to the world at large and also communicates the values of Raiffeisenlandesbank NÖ-Wien.
"The exciting part of the project," says Stefan Stefanovic of Grassfish, "was to centrally adapt content for these scattered pixel elements. We created a content template for each Raiffeisen branch so that videos and animations for the LED elements could be easily arranged and effortlessly played back."
The result is a digital communication tool that blends seamlessly with the architecture of the various locations.
